 ex ptoints and loot

Just my personal opinion on these things.

First off loot drops and rare items (like sets) seem pretty good it takes a long time to find them and I enjoy that rather than being handed uber gear without searching high and low for it.

Gold - it seem sa bit to easy to get gold I know I have a lot of chars and I have millions of gold and I've heard people talk about having 100+ million. Maybe we should make cash a little rarer.

Ex pts - I love leveling up and having fun but personally I'd like to see less ex pts handed out for kills. I mean I was in D10 or D 11 and already level 60. It's just to easy to get ex pts and I think it would make the game overall more satisfying if we got 1/2 th epoints we get now. Folks may disagree but getting a level now seems like no big thing. I'd rather see the points cut to 1/10 the current amount so when u level it really means something.

Death - Not much of a penelty for dying, maybe increasing the ex loss as well as making a random chance to drop and lose something you are wearing. Like 10% chance of losing that great armor you have or sweet weapon. Death should hurt not just be a mild interruption in game play.

DUDE, WTF?!?! Shhhh... Sarah reads this board too you know....

Besides the characters that are talking about having 100 mill plus are usually players that have been around a while and when Sarah did the item wipe a few weeks back all items were exchanged for gold.

I think the balance of xp is about right, but then I've only ever really played for any length of time on the DX servers so I can't really compare to anything other mods out there. I would say however that the game would lose a lot of its pace if you had to lap the same dungeon again and again just to gain one level. Personally, I can't get out of D5 quickly enough.

As for loot, well, I have expressed my opinion of that before and don't think anything can be served in saying again how pitifully rare the good drops are.

I have to agree with you being in the same dungeon because you got lower ex pts would be boring. So unless we had other places to go or quests to get pts its probably good as it is.

I think rare items should be well ... rare. The fewer the drops the better, make us work for things or buy things. I don't have any trouble getting money, espeically as I get higher, as things that are +5 and up drop a lot and sell for a lot.

Both are tough subjects.

I think the exp is setup (as discussed) appropriately, so that you're not stuck in D4 for weeks and weeks on end. If there was triple the content in each dungeon and more sub quests it might work to have less exp per kill, but for now I think its as good as its going to get.

As for the loot/gold setup I tend to agree with the less is more crowd. You'll never hear me bragging about any uber gear, but the stuff I do have is much better than on most servers. I have one lvl 60, who would be able to solo D12 if I could ever find the boss. Most of his gear was from drops, some of it was bought.

Loot and XP are always a major issue. You don't want players getting too much or too little. On one hand, they'll get bored. On the other, they'll get frustrated and leave.

I think KT has a pretty good balance. I agree with those who dislike having to run the same dungeon over and over in order to gain enough loot/XP. With KT, you aren't supposed to be able to run a dungeon in a single trip unless you are handing down items or otherwise getting a leg up from other players. If you play it as intended, you'll have to loot and level up a bit before getting strong enough for the boss. That's one of the reasons why I try to create at least two separate routes for each dungeon (except for unholy...the exception).

BTW, each dungeon is supposed to have easy and hard routes to take. If you get upset that you can't ever find a lot of loot on bugbears, for example, you might want to try the giant route. The loot rate is usually higher for the hard route.
