I like the way Spider Demons seem to ignore a couple of the immunities on my Templar amulet.
...we can't be expected to me immune to everything now can we Wink

Ah, you noticed. Yes, some of the most powerful demons can bypass even immunities. I suppose you could argue that's unfair, but they are demons after all.

I think anyone that has battled through KT all the way to d16 will have lost all preconceptions of it being fair a long time before they even see a spider demon.

I think the module is pretty fair. I think Bob is confusing fair with easy.

no, i just looked up the definitions of both words and the word i mean is "fair." I think Nuli is confusing "mind blowing frustration" with "fun"

If the module is too difficult, let me know what areas need tweaked. D16 doesn't really count, as it's intended to be insanely tough. Everything else should be beatable without a great deal of effort. Of course, that doesn't mean someone who wants to go pure druid is going to be able to solo everything. Oh, a pure druid could conceivably make it, but that would be an frustratingly difficult time.

The specific "unfairness" I had in mind was D16, I can appreciate what you say when you need it to be tough, but take, for example, toad demons (please forgive me if these figures are wrong, i am going from memory here.) but they hit with an AB over 100, average AC at lvl 60 is around 80-85 (note i say average, not full on pally set.) so at best the toad demons will hit 3 out of 4 times. Ignore the physical damage for a second as this can be resisted or reduced with greater or lesser success. but then they hit you with a minimum of 100 divine damage, which by your own admission is practically impossible to resist. Tie all that together with the number of attacks per round they get and your character is dead before they get a chance to heal.

But as you say D16 is supposed to be tough and I do think that the last level should not be easy for people to solo, encourage teamwork and parties.

But try playing a dexterity based lawful evil character from level 1 through to Hell then do the same with a Knight build (even without joining the knights.) and you will see what I mean.

I know this seems like one big bitch, but it started out as just an offhand comment that seems to have blown up. Please don't misunderstand, I love playing KT and it is far superior to most other servers around, there are just some things I think are unfair, and well, we all have an opinion.

I'm not sure that I agree with you ninebobnote, at least not entirely. I do agree that KT is better than other servers. But I wouldn't say it was unfair exactly.

The reason that evil-doers don't get on so well is that it is supposed to be reflection of society, or at least how society should be. So thieves never prosper, society will stand against injustice and wrong-doings will be punished. Live by the law and you will prosper.

As for what you said about D16, I do kinda get. Especially the bit about the toads. I know it has to be diffucult, but when the fights consist less about skill and more about how many heals you remembered to buy then I can see why the appeal might begin to fade, especially as, until you get some good legendary loot drops, this is essentially how the game plays from d13 upwards.

What I will say though, is perseverance will pay off and the loot will drop (eventually) which will make life a great deal easier. At least I hope so, i'm still waiting.

by the by, I do have a lvl 60 dexterity based toon, who was evil for most of his life (got switched to Lawful Neutral by partying with some do-gooder knights) and he can go to D16, although for D15, D16 and to a lesser extent D14 he is only really worthwhile as a support character in a party. He can solo D14 and D15, but dies with annoying frequency and keeps getting busted down to level 59.

But my point is, If I can build such a toon, anyone can.

Oh, and Sarah.... why would anyone WANT to build a pure druid? Not many trees to hug in hell.

Each opponent in d16 requires slightly different tactics.

My Pally can kill the black toads ...but the tactic I use for the black toad fights is very different from most other fights.
My (non-Crimson) monk can also kill them ...with a completely different tactic again.
My WM can tank them when in the right party ...and with a few lucky dice rolls

Finding the right tactics for the different opponents can result in lots of deaths ...but working out how to win against different opponents is what I enjoy doing

He he he
Gotta start working on a new Druid / Harper / Purple knight

Another fun old build was the 43HP Lvl-40 wizard ...but can't make that here now thanks to the "max HP" script (...am NOT complaining!!)
