Energy Crystals Do Nothing?

Has anyone gotten these to work? I've never had them do anything.

The elemental crystals work fine, though.

They work for me, and they did massive damage in a small radius in d5.

I just tried again. The crystal was thrown then nothing... In D5 as well.

What level were you? What class?

Just for clarity's sake, I'm talking about the "Energy Crystal" s, not the "Fire Crystal", "Frost Crystal", "Acid Crystal", etc.

You might be right. I used white crystals that worked, but the yellow crystals (energy?) did nothing.

I'm pretty sure energy crystals work, but you may not be using them as intended.

Hmm, I'm utterly baffled.

I've tried throwing them against Undead and Outsiders still with no effect.

I'm hesitant to use one on myself; last time I did that, and it was back in like 2008, I got credit for killing a player because I offed myself. Penalties = blegh.

Anyone ever get the energy crystals to work? It could be difficult to see the effect...

Hi Sarah,
It was nice to hear from you. I think I have two power crystals that I can use to test. I remembered Mara said something like power self...I think she referred to melee. But can you reset the server, as it is down at the moment?

I agree with rom, we're trying to connect to the server since 2 or 3 weeks ago and can't connect to IP 114.179.171.233:5121, seems that server is down or the IP has changed Sad

I have one of these "Energy Crystals" on one of my toons.
It seems to be a single use thing.
On inspection it says something like "Acid Bomb, single use"
I'm kinda tentative to use it on myself -- but could give it a go on my wizard, just to see what happens

I recall -- waaaay back when -- throwing one of those fire crystal rod things .. at a target that was too close to me. Killed the target -- and myself, and I think it tagged me as evil, or generally a bad person, and a PKer. Had to pay an extortionate amount to the angel to clear my name -- or find someone to kill me to clear my name. I forget whether a prison term was involved, the town guards attacked me, or perhaps the Angel just refused to give me a buff.

However -- the memory is fading, and I might just be remembering someone else's story ^^

It sounds to me like the description is wrong. As I recall, energy boosts spell casting.

Hi there, checking in.

Over the last week I've used 41 Energy Crystals.

I've used them on myself. Before an after casting defensive spells. Before and after casting offensive spells. No effect.
I've used them on enemies. Before an after casting defensive spells. Before and after casting offensive spells. No effect.
I've used them on other players. Before an after casting defensive spells. Before and after casting offensive spells. No effect.
I've used them on NPCs. Before an after casting defensive spells. Before and after casting offensive spells. No effect.

I've also used it with every damage-type offensive spell there is; none of the damages are increased.
There is also no DC increase.
With regards to missile spells (Fire Arrow, ILMS, IGMS, etc) the missile count does not change.

I think we need some guidance here, or a code check? Nobody seems to be able to get these to work.
