Lately the server is picking back up, we now have at time 13 player or more, loving it. As for NWN 2 I hope you all have a great time if it comes to that. I have tried it and hate.. But I am one of the oldest here... Rolling Eyes

I tried NWN2, too. It was OK, but the toolset is virtually unusable. No way am I going to spend days designing terrain for each area. The NWN terrain tilesets are so much better. They just needed more of them.

If a company wanted to do it right, all they would do is update the NWN graphics and sounds and open up more scripts for customization. Make quarterly releases of new monster models, sound sets, etc., and charge a small subscription fee to purchase them. Scripters would do the rest.

The core NWN framework is a great design. The custom content has always been the greatest draw for me once I completed the single player modules, and single player wouldn't even be necessary in this day and age. Scripters could create that where necessary, but most of us don't have the skill necessary to do all of it, the graphic and sound foundation as well as programming, to create complete modules.

BTW, I'll leave the server up as long as people want to keep playing on it. I enjoy the community. NWN's great strength, in my opinion, was its ability to run heavily customized modules independently. Those smaller worlds and their closer knit user groups made the game so much more interesting.
