Possible Hell party?

Hey all,

Since coming back I've had the most fun running around with Nuli, and find that I miss the old days of partying and taking on high dungeons with a good group. So I was wondering if anyone would be interested in putting together a group of like 4 characters max, playing em from 1st level to 60, and eventually smote the crap out of Hell's minions.

Play like once a week for 4 hours, finding a time we can all be on, and making a solid party (Fighter-ish type, Monkish type, Caster type, rogueish type).

Also, play by the hardcore rules...no shortcuts, no transfers, straight play all the way to Vile King and beyond.

I'd love to play with some of you guys that are on enough...Rom, Freeman, Nuli...but would welcome anyone new or curious.

Lemme know what ya think, we could even detail our exploits here on the board.

Oooh, I wanna play a straight bard!! Get me a lute and a crossbow and I'm all set.

Well, we got Rom on board too...hopefully a couple more for a good 5 man party.

So far Roms goin PM, Nulis Cleric, and me a Bard...could use a good WM or RDD build for smacking, and maybe an AA or monk?

Anyhoo...guess all we gotta do is finalize some little details and we should be ready to start soon, like:

-Group name, something we all have like a adventuring band name or sumthin. I personally like "Shal's Bunch O' Killers", but it wouldn't really fit...heh. Maybe either a title like "Epic" (for it surely will be!) or a group last name.
-Identifying colors/uniform (we gotta be all stylish ya know)
-Confirmed meeting time. Something like Sunday noon (EST) for 4 hours...as an example.
-General ideas for group rules/standards.

So for me, I'd be for:
-Group Name: "Epic Shal", "Epic Nuli", etc... or maybe Shal "the Red Shield" (or insert appropriate object/rally item)...or how about "WHM Shal"? hehe
-Colors: I'm all for bright...like Pale Blue and White.
-Meeting Time: I'm good for weekends, like noon to 5-ish. 4 hour games would be perfect, though allow for a break if needed.
-General Ideas: No transfers/hand-me-downs/Celesti-xp-raising, go all hardcore and swap items between ourselves that we find. Also a clause that if someone misses then the party can still go on without them and they'll have to catch up solo later...maybe even allow two to be missing so three could go on (if we get 5). Emergencies happen and people will miss, but it shouldn't hold up the rest of the group.

Anyways, there's my ideas, hope you all can put up yours. Checking with Freeman and a few others later to see if they want in.

Been ages since I actually played on KT and I left to play other games and because most of the friends I made there have moved on. Finding a time to get together and play with a group would be something I would enjoy and would bring me back to the server at least for that time to play instead of just for hey anyone need any of the items I have stored since I no longer play. I always loved party play and find that it makes the game more fun than just playing by yourself and grinding your way through the same dungeons again and again. So far all the ideas are sounding cool and Im mostly available during weekends as well but occasionally work on saturday during the day so Sunday would be the best time for me. My name would be based on what character I play and for example might be something like Warchief The Epic Blademaster for a weapon master but not sure what Im going to play yet. Depends on what I feel like playing I guess and will let you know as soon as I figure it out.

If this works out beware for Warchief shall return to raid and pillage the dungeons of KT once more......

EDIT: I think I will play a weapon master with a scythe but also a couple other weapons just for fun and laughs

Also my bro says he wants to join too and he says he wants to be some sort of rogue build so it looks like we got at least 5 people now.

Haha, just read what you were talking about. Scratch the level 60 cleric idea.

Okay, here's how its looking:

We have 5 people, Myself, Nuli, Rom, Boo, and Warchief (sorry no room for the bro).

We'll start this upcoming Sunday, so post or check with me on KT for your best times...I can open most of the day. Figure we'll coordinate it all to EST which is -1 Central, -2 Mountain, -3 Pacific (Just FYI). Hopefully go for like 4 hours, with a 10-20 minute break in between.

Still need a good, unifying name/surname...something that identifies us as the kick butt adventuring crew we'll be! Quick Ideas: "Epic Shal", "Epic Boo", etc... or "Shal the Conquerer", "Nuli the Conquerer", etc... or "the Mighty", "the Inconceivable", "the Waste of Real Life Time"....hehehe You get the drift...any ideas welcome!

It will be hardcore mode...again, this means: NO Giving of items from one toon to another (unless they're in the party with you), NO Celesti-XP-Leveling, NO Money transfers, NO Shortcuts.

The classes look like they'll be: Nuli (Cleric), Rom (Palemaster), Shal (Bard), Boo (WM Build), and Warchief (Scythe WM or other). Please try to make your classes compliment others, as its not a solo endeavor....I'll be cranking things like Open Lock and Lore as well as my Bard song, with things like my combat abilities coming second (THinking rapier/longbow).

That should be about it, I think we're nearly set to tackle all that Sarah and the Mod can throw at us. I'll make posts on the board to detail our exploits....unless Grak whips our butts and we can't go any further...then I'll just be leaving in shame.

P.S. Oh yeah, any input on looks? We should be distinguishable from the other people....all gold? all black? rainbow?

For looks I say we dress in red and black and if Boo has weapon master covered then I may change my class to better compliment the group like maybe a brick character to take abuse while the rest of the group kills the monsters but not sure yet. As for names I have no ideas there but will go with just about anything the group decides on. That's my input on it anyway hope it helps.

How about Rom|Clan of WAR in honor of Shal who originated the idea (and since Shal doesn't use the name WAR on this server)? Color of red should be good since it's distinct and also accomodates a crimson build that cannot change color. Talking about builds, if you (Warchief) are flexible, we can use a Crimson or a mage. Crimson's advantage is being the strongest from the very beginning as he's the only one with a full set. A mage's advantage is good arcane spell complement for the group. By the way, I'd prefer a gathering time in the afternoon (after 2 pm EST) or in the evening. Two hours a day Saturday and Sunday works for me also.

On the members of the group, I don't think it need to be limited to 5.

My bro wont be able to join now anyway so that is not a big deal and Id like to play something that will benefit the party but also be fun to play. The Crimson monk is restrictive and gets a free handout of gear and I prefer to find/buy all the gear that my character will require and as for a mage I have about 3 on the server 1 of which is 60 the rest low level because I havent bothered with them since. So Im probably going to avoid playing a monk or a mage but we will see what happens and what my final choice will be.

Funny enough, I just revamped WAR on the server right before you posted that Warchief, hehe, quite the coincidence.

And while I am flattered by the name, I don't think a band sworn to that crazy, chaotic, loud-mouthed toon would be best...

But the idea of red (in case of Crimson Monk player) IS a sound one....Hmmm...Red as main, then whatever off colors I suppose we want.

Speaking of Crimson (or mage), I can play either if someone wanted to go Bard instead. I also have never really raised a Wizard to 60 and that idea intrigues me...though of course you'd all have to put up with me goin "WHERE the heck is the orb on this level?!" every time.

One other thing I forgot in the rules section: What to do if someone misses a weekend/run? I say as long as a majority exists (3 out of 5, or however big this eventually gets), that the others continue on...then I can come on here and post at what XP we left off, then the people who missed have the week to catch up to that point. Good enough, or more ideas?

Classes: If someone does wish to go Bard and swap with me, just remember that you'll be in charge of posting on the board our grand adventure!

I said Im flexable for class but not that flexable a bard is my least favourite class unless it is just the minimum I need for RDD. I still dont know what to play yet since the weapon master spot is filled but Im guessing that Im going to play some sort of brick whether that be just a take abuse while the party kills brick or a tank to take abuse and kill monsters I havent decided yet. Other players input are welcome to help me decide on my class although as I said earlier I may be flexable for what class I am but there are certain classes I just wont take unless I really feel like playing one.

If you want something to take a chewing from monsters: bard 6, RDD 10, DD 24. in a Bard 5, RDD 5, DD 10, RDD 5, DD 12, Bard 3 direction.

Or Bard 4, PM 10, DD 26! =D Bard 3; PM 10, DD 26, Bard 1. Although you lose 1 attack this way. But Crit Immune!
MM, 1 attack, level 2 and 3 spells, 80 HP at least, and 7 AB.

Playtested a shifter, I don't want to do it. If you don't want to do this build, I will! =D

I can play anything else, though. Anything at all, if you're indecisive when we start, I'll go Conj-Based Wizard.

Only thing wrong with that build is the alignments of the classes clash (non-lawful bard, lawful only dd) I know it is possible to do on KT but I would rather not have a character that exploits the alignment changes of the site to get its power. If other players want to go do it fine by me I could care less.

An AA build is something I could do and with the group I should be protected enough to be able to kill at range my only limit will the the expense of arrows since elemental arrows cost a lot of gp but will work a way around it. any preferance on what type of archer? Stealth, Sneak attack, high attack bonus, high damage fire immune thats also decent in combat, healer, caster/crit immune, or speedy?

I am fine with "the Adventurer" also. The weapon and armor for the PM build are long sword and heavy armor, respectively, and the ideal progression is Noob Set, Stout Set, and Rusty Set.

Warchief-an AA is a good complement to the group. A conventional 29-level AA will be good since you get +15 arrows by default at level 40. With such a large group, we will collect enough arrows in the loot so you probably won't need to buy any.

If someone is going with a Bludgeon wep, go Morning star, as it also yields Piercing (if monster is more vulnerable)

Still any ideas on what other class I should take instead of the 1 mage level to become an AA? If Im going 29 AA that will rule out stealth (bard, shadow dancer, caster/crit immune (wizard, pale master) and high damage immune to fire (bard, red dragon disciple), which would leave the choice of sneak attack (rogue), high attack bonus (fighter, paladin, ranger or barbarian), healer (cleric), or speedy (monk).

Build wise, just play whatever build you would like I'd think. In a group with all the roles covered any build should do fine.
