 Server restart once a year.

I was thinking if it would be possible to have Server restart once a year. I am sure some players will be against it as they would loose all their items and levels but It gets really boring doing the same thing over and over like when you have all the items and all you are left with is either farm in the highest dungeon (this gets boring pretty fast), start killing other Players or just quit playing. Starting everything from the beginning would be really interesting and challenging and most of all it would be a lot of fun. I have hopes that players as well as DM accepts this.

There would be many issues with doing that and here is a list:
1. The site would be unappealing to new players that would come on 1 day before restart for example and then boom their character is gone.
2. People who have really put a lot of work into their main character would not be pleased with the fact that they will have to remake that character and that character possibly not being as powerful or as fun as when the character was initially made.
3. There would be a huge overrun of all the dungeons due to everyone having to start from the beginning making it so that it would take forever to get even d1 key if your not quick enough.
4. With the fact that dungeons would be overrun on the first day after the restart there would be a ton of lag due to having so many players in the same area.
Solutions to the boredom would be:
1. Create a new character from scratch and do not bother to transfer item that were found on a different character.
2. Ask the DM if there is a possiblity of creating new areas, items, and/or monsters.
3. Ask DM to host events/tournaments every once and a while.
4. Leave and go play on another mod/site if you are too bored with this one.

these aren't really issues.
1. If someone happens to start playing 1 day before restart he doesn't loose anything.
2. I have put a lot of work into all of my chars and even so i would definitely play from scratch. Having everything possible on KT will someday get you bored and eventually have players leave. I suppose most of us play here for fun so none of us should be having problems against the restart.
3.It's true in some way, but these that know how to play really won't stay in d1 for a long time, and move onto higher dungeons(it takes no more than 10mins to get 5th lvl and kill Angry Brute).
4. Having a lot of the players in one dungeon has nothing to do with the lag, even that we have 2 routes available to get to the boss.

We could still have DM host events/tournaments every once in a while in addition to that.
DM is going to add another 2 dungeons(zero wing world and Dragons area) and new items, but that will still get boring.
Yes we could just go play on another mod/site or different game but having restart should keep these players here.

Well that's your opion and you are entitled to as am I and any other player who decides to post. The eample of a player starting 1 day before was just an example and sure they wouldnt lose anything except for that fact that most likey when that player comes on next there would be a shout that would say something along the lines of "wtf where did my character go?". Although it is true that you can kill the angry brute in like 10 min, it is also possible that when you actaully get to him he is already dead and when you restart the area he may already be dead again by the time you get there if you are not quick enough which is why I said that players may be stuck in d1 or any of the early dungeons for a long time.

An annual server wipe would only FORCE players to create/play low level characters, where right now we have an OPTION to do so. If you wanted to delete all your characters and start fresh, there's no one to stop you from doing so, just play as if Celesti wasn't there.

Another problem is that players would lose access to their senior characters to handle overspawns. Hey, that might encourage team play, though.

I have always liked the concept of a server wipe once in awhile. True, some players will get upset and leave. However, other players, like myself, enjoy it. Once players have established an uber character or two, they typically farm and transfer items to their lower characters. They lose the thrill of playing lower characters through the 15 dungeons that are not the final one. A server wipe is also a chance to do major item corrections without having to program scripts to handle updates. Nevertheless, I wouldn't plan on doing one unless a majority of the regulars wanted one, and even then, I'd want to do some additional module updates before then.

Sarah does have many good points. I would not mind a server wipe if it meaned that many new things were added to the server to explore on the way back up to the top. I just don't like the idea of having one annually without warning especially for those newer players who may come on one day and then poof their charcter is gone the next. A good idea for a warning would something like the welcome message when first log in at the golden griffen in saying there will be a server wipe in x amount of days to be informative to those who are new.
