 Beholders overpowered

Hey, I'm new to this server, and really enjoy playing on it. However, the beholders in Medusa's maze are close to runing my fun here. I equip myself to the best of my level, buff with bulls strength, endurance, haste, clarity, elixir of life, even have cloak that gives 26 spell resistance. I still get wiped in 2-3 shots by beholders rays and sometimes in 1 shot. I don't even have chance to hit them before I die. Last time I died I let the henchman Joan attack it while I was far away but Beholder ignored Joan and focused on me anyway. I tried every tactic and failed. Why is it that all other creatures there I believe to be scaled like berzerkers and minotaurs, mind flayer, intellect devour are all killable but single beholder kills me. I believe it is overpowered and should not have place in d5 when compared to other denizens.

I am fighter 15/weaponmaster 7. Thanks for listening.

Agreed. the beholders need to be scaled back, even it is just lowering the DC of their debuff ray.

The beholders and the ever changing portals make d5 the most aggravating in the whole mod. I usually try to stay in d4 as long as possible then get it over and done with quickly before moving on to d6 sooner than is advisable.

I to am relatively new to the server, 2 weeks, and I agree with this completely. I haven't played my highest level character, 23 all week, because I can't get through D5.

The beholder debuff trashes casters, and favors fighters. The berserkers are nightmare to most fighters, but I've found they are especially vulnerable to mental spells. I both like and loathe the medusa maze. I think it should swap places with D6 or possibly even d7.

I will see what I can do about the Beholders. They are definitely a challenge, even though I and others have beat that dungeon many times without racing to medusa. Probably the best hired henchmen can be found there. If you hire one, they are pretty much immune to beholders.
